Wolfgang Lutz院士现为社会学院特聘教授。他曾任奥地利科学院维也纳人口研究所所长、维也纳大学人口学系主任。1995年至2020年,他担任国际应用系统分析研究所(IIASA)世界人口项目负责人。自2022年6月起,他担任IIASA科学副总干事。他还是Wittgenstein人口与全球人力资本中心(IIASA、奥地利科学院和维也纳大学合作成立)的创始主任,该中心于2010年在奥地利最高科学奖Wittgenstein奖的基础上成立。此外,他还担任国际人口科学研究联盟(IUSSP)秘书长,牛津大学马丁学院教授。他曾获得过无数全球著名奖项。他是奥地利科学院、德国国家Leopoldina科学院、欧洲科学院、世界科学院(TWAS)、芬兰科学与文学学会和美国国家科学院(NAS)院士。
